This Privacy Policy explains what personal information !Failure Studio ("we", "us") collects through eliminate.live (the "Site"), why, and what choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the leaderboard and keep it safe.
1. Information we collect
When you submit a Listing
- Public listing content: logo, title, message and website URL. This is published on the Site once approved and is visible to everyone.
- Contact email: used to contact you about your Listing. It is never shown publicly.
- Anti-abuse data: a one-way hashed (irreversibly scrambled) version of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, used to enforce submission limits and prevent spam and fraud. We do not store your raw IP address with your Listing.
- Consent record: the time you accepted our Terms and policies.
When you visit the Site
To count unique visitors, show public traffic numbers and stop click fraud, we record:
- IP address and a one-way hashed version of it;
- Approximate country, derived from your IP address by our hosting provider;
- Device information: device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), operating system, browser and browser user-agent string;
- A random device identifier created by the Site and kept in your browser's local storage, so the same device is counted only once;
- the days you visited and which sponsored Listings you clicked.
Each device or IP address is counted only once per day for visitor numbers and only once per Listing for click numbers. Only aggregated totals (for example "1,240 visitors this week" or "85 clicks") are ever shown publicly or to Advertisers. We never publish or share individual visitor records.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers also process standard technical data in server logs, for security and reliability.
- If bot protection is enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile processes limited device and interaction signals to tell humans from bots.
Apart from our hosting provider's cookie-free Web Analytics and Speed Insights, we do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers, do not sell personal information, and do not build advertising profiles of visitors. We do not use tracking cookies. You can remove the device identifier at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
2. How we use information
- to review, publish, rank and display Listings;
- to contact you about your Listing (for example, approval, rejection or complaints);
- to measure how many unique people visit the Site and click on Listings, and to show those totals publicly;
- to prevent spam, abuse, click fraud and automated submissions, and to enforce our Terms and Content Policy;
- to keep the Site secure and working;
- to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We will not send you marketing emails unless you separately opt in. Where data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR apply, our legal bases are: performance of our agreement with you (publishing your Listing), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, measuring our audience in aggregate, running the Site), and compliance with legal obligations. You can object to this processing at any time by contacting us.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Site:
- Supabase (database, file storage and authentication);
- Vercel (website hosting, plus Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which measure page views and page performance in aggregate without cookies);
- Cloudflare (bot protection, if enabled).
We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid request from a competent authority, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the Site. Public listing content is, by its nature, visible to anyone and may be copied or indexed by third parties outside our control.
4. International transfers
We are based in Pakistan. Our service providers may store and process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.
5. How long we keep information
- Public listing content: for as long as the Listing is shown, and in archived form afterwards unless you ask us to delete it.
- Contact email and anti-abuse data: for as long as the Listing exists, and up to 12 months after it is removed or rejected, to handle disputes and prevent repeat abuse.
- Visitor analytics: raw IP addresses are automatically deleted 12 months after your last visit. Hashed identifiers, country and device information are kept to keep historical totals accurate.
- Aggregated statistics (totals with no personal data) may be kept indefinitely.
- Rejected Listings may be deleted at any time.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, email hello@eliminate.live from the email address used for your Listing. We may need to verify your identity. Deleting your Listing removes it from the board; it does not restore any position you previously held.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access controls, row-level security on our database, encrypted connections and hashing of IP addresses. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site is not directed at children and Listings may only be submitted by people aged 18 or over. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will always be on this page with its effective date. If we add payments or other features that collect new kinds of data, we will update this policy before they go live.
